· · 2 min read

Indian cricket sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, 15, has been named to TIME magazine’s TIME100 Next 2026 list, recognizing rising global talents. He is the youngest honoree and the sole Indian athlete featured.

Fifteen-year-old Indian cricket prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has earned a coveted spot on TIME magazine’s TIME100 Next 2026 list, a prestigious recognition highlighting 100 emerging talents poised to shape the future across various fields. Sooryavanshi stands out as the youngest individual on this year’s list and the only Indian athlete to receive the honor.

A Global Recognition for Emerging Talent

TIME unveiled its TIME100 Next list on September 30, celebrating individuals across sports, entertainment, politics, and business who are expected to make significant impacts. TIME CEO Jessica Sibley noted that this year’s honorees are “pushing boundaries, creating new possibilities, and advancing their fields and communities around the world,” underscoring the list’s global scope.

Sooryavanshi is one of just seven athletes included, joining notable figures such as American football quarterback Arch Manning, NBA guard Tyrese Maxey, footballers Naomi Girma and Folarin Balogun, tennis player Alexandra Eala, and basketball player Olivia Miles.

From IPL Prodigy to International Debut

Sooryavanshi's ascent in the cricket world has been remarkably swift. In 2024, at just 13 years old, he became the youngest player ever signed at an IPL auction when the Rajasthan Royals secured him for ₹1.1 crore. His debut the following year saw him make history again, becoming the youngest player to score a century in men’s T20 cricket, a feat that cemented his status as a generational talent.

More recently, he surpassed cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar’s record to become the youngest male player to represent India internationally, making his debut against England in July in Manchester.

Off-Field Success: Endorsements and Influence

Beyond his on-field records, Sooryavanshi’s appeal has translated into significant commercial success. At 15, he boasts endorsement deals with at least five major brands. He is the new “India ka Complan Boy” for Zydus Wellness’ Complan, features in a Google Pay advertisement promoting safe money management for teenagers, and serves as a brand ambassador for Red Bull.

He also holds an equipment deal with SS Bats (Sareen Sports) valued at approximately ₹50 lakh annually, which has launched a special “Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Edition” bat. Additionally, the Jharkhand Health Department appointed him as a brand ambassador to promote fitness among youth. His commercial value has reportedly surpassed ₹1 crore per deal, contributing to an estimated net worth of ₹7 to 10 crore, derived from IPL salary, match fees, domestic cricket earnings, and growing brand endorsements.
