Shares of Gautam Singhania-led Raymond Ltd. have continued their impressive upward trajectory, recording a gain of over 200% in the last six months and reaching an all-time high. The stock soared 11.82% in recent trading to hit Rs 1,121.80, with continued strong buying interest observed for the third consecutive session.
This significant surge has prompted both the BSE and NSE bourses to place Raymond's securities under the short-term Additional Surveillance Measure (ASM) framework. This measure is typically implemented to alert investors to unusual price movements and heightened volatility in a stock.
Demerger Drives Value Unlocking
Market analysts attribute the robust performance primarily to the completion of the Raymond Group's demerger. This strategic move has separated its diverse businesses into distinct listed entities, providing clearer insights into their individual performance and valuation.
Ravi Singh, Chief Research Officer at Master Capital Services, stated, "Raymond stocks are witnessing strong buying interest following the completion of the group's demerger, which has separated its businesses into distinct listed entities." He added that "the restructuring provides greater clarity on the performance and valuation of the individual businesses, which was difficult under the earlier structure."
The demerger has transformed Raymond Realty into a pure-play real estate company, while Raymond Ltd. itself is now focused on engineering and precision technology. This clearer segmentation has allowed investors to reassess the standalone entities, leading to increased trading activity and buying interest across the group's stocks.
Expansion into Aerospace and Strong Outlook
Beyond the demerger, Raymond's expansion into the precision engineering business, particularly aerospace manufacturing, is viewed as a significant positive for its long-term prospects. Aerospace is considered a sunrise sector in India, offering substantial growth opportunities.
Kranthi Bathini, Equity Strategist at WealthMills Securities, noted, "Raymond is expanding its precision engineering division into aerospace manufacturing, which is one of the sunrise sectors in India. The company's order book and earnings visibility look promising from a medium- to long-term perspective."
Another group stock, Raymond Realty Ltd., also saw a strong performance, climbing 4.42% to Rs 609.35, pushing its six-month gains to over 70%. Analysts suggest that Raymond Realty's strong Q1 order book and current valuations make it an attractive long-term hold.
