Indian stationery and creative products major DOMS Industries Ltd. announced on June 11, 2026, its acquisition of significant assets under the Reynolds India brand. The agreement, valued at ₹30.71 crore, covers intellectual property, manufacturing capabilities, and associated liabilities, signaling a strategic expansion for DOMS in the writing instruments market.

Strategic Asset Acquisition

The asset purchase agreement, dated June 10, 2026, was finalized between DOMS Industries and multiple sellers, including Reynolds Pens India Private Limited (RPI), Sanford, L.P. (SLP), and Luxembourg Brands S.à r.l. (LBS), among others. This comprehensive acquisition includes key elements such as:

  • Plant, machinery, and molds from RPI.
  • Relevant contracts and social media accounts.
  • Copyrights, trademarks, and domain names from LBS.
  • Patents and designs from SLP.

The deal also incorporates the transfer of employees and associated identified liabilities related to the manufacture and sale of pens, markers, highlighters, and school supplies under the Reynolds brand.

Market Reaction and Company Outlook

Following the announcement, DOMS Industries' shares experienced a notable surge, climbing 6% to ₹2238 against a previous close of ₹2121.30. The company's market capitalization reached ₹13,489 crore, reflecting investor confidence in this strategic move.

DOMS Industries, recognized as a leading player in India's stationery sector, boasts an extensive portfolio covering writing instruments, school supplies, art materials, and office stationery. The acquisition is expected to significantly enhance DOMS' product offerings and market reach, leveraging Reynolds' established brand presence and heritage.

A Legacy Brand Joins DOMS

The Reynolds brand, with an 81-year history, first introduced the retail ballpoint pen in the United States in 1945. It made its debut in the Indian market in the 1980s, with local manufacturing commencing in 1998. Integrating Reynolds' assets into its operations will allow DOMS to tap into a broader customer base and consolidate its position both domestically and in its international export markets across more than 55 countries.
