YRF's latest Spy Universe entry, 'Alpha,' starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, demonstrated a notable recovery at the box office on its fifth day, Tuesday. After a dip on Monday, the film managed to collect ₹4.25 crore, pushing its total India net collection to ₹42.10 crore.
'Alpha' Shows Recovery on Tuesday
The film's initial weekend performance was strong, with collections of ₹9.25 crore on Friday, ₹11.50 crore on Saturday, and ₹13.25 crore on Sunday. However, it faced a typical weekday drop on Monday, earning ₹3.85 crore. The slight growth on Tuesday indicates a positive trend for the action thriller as it inches closer to the ₹50 crore mark in gross domestic collections.
Domestic and Global Performance
As of its fifth day, 'Alpha' has achieved a gross domestic box office collection of ₹50.23 crore. Globally, the film has grossed an impressive ₹70.03 crore. The overall theatrical occupancy for 'Alpha' stood at 19.06%, with night shows recording the highest occupancy at 29.38%. Major cities contributing significantly to its occupancy included Jaipur, NCR, Lucknow, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Pune, and Chennai.
Competition from 'Dhamaal 4'
Meanwhile, the box office landscape is set to become more competitive with the impending release of Ajay Devgn's comedy flick, 'Dhamaal 4.' The film, scheduled to hit theatres on May 10, commenced its advance bookings on Tuesday. Early reports indicate decent pre-sales, with tickets worth ₹1.6 crore already sold by Wednesday morning for its first day, first show. These figures are expected to climb as the release date approaches.

Directed by Shiv Rawail, 'Alpha' delves into a clandestine military program involving an experimental super-soldier serum. The narrative follows a young girl transformed into a highly skilled assassin after being trained from childhood. Breaking free from the organization years later, she embarks on a mission to dismantle those responsible for the unethical Alpha project.
The film boasts a strong ensemble cast including Alia Bhatt, Sharvari, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, Dia Mirza, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Khushi Hajare, and Sangay Tsheltrim in pivotal roles.
