Trump Declares Iran Ceasefire Over, Labels Leaders 'Liars' After US Strikes

· · 2 min read

US President Donald Trump announced the effective end of an Iran ceasefire on Wednesday, hours after US forces conducted strikes on targets within Iran. Trump described Iranian leaders as 'sick people' and 'liars,' dismissing future negotiations.

US President Donald Trump has declared the ceasefire with Iran effectively over, just hours after the United States launched retaliatory strikes on multiple targets within Iran. The strikes followed Tehran's alleged attacks on three oil tankers in the crucial Strait of Hormuz.

Trump Dismisses Further Negotiations

Speaking after the significant escalation, President Trump stated he no longer wished to engage with Iran and dismissed any prospect of future negotiations. "To me, I think it's over. I don't want to deal with them...They are SICK people. They're vicious, violent people," Trump asserted, also announcing the termination of any existing memorandum of understanding with Iran.

Sharpening his criticism, Trump accused the Iranian leadership of acting in bad faith. He described dealing with them as "just a waste of time" and unequivocally called them "LIARS." These remarks underscore a significant hardening of the US stance towards Tehran.

US Retaliatory Strikes Escalate Tensions

Trump's comments came swiftly on the heels of US military actions. The United States had struck several targets inside Iran in direct response to the attacks on three tankers navigating the Strait of Hormuz. This sequence of events marks a fresh and concerning escalation in the already fraught relationship between Washington and Tehran, threatening regional stability.
