Prakash Raj Joins Bengaluru Protest Demanding Education Accountability
Actor and activist Prakash Raj joined a significant protest in Bengaluru on Sunday, standing alongside education reform advocate Sonam Wangchuk and Abhijit Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). The demonstration, held at Freedom Park despite heavy rain, focused on critical issues within India's education system, particularly demanding accountability and addressing concerns over the recent NEET paper leak.
The protest drew a large crowd, with participants expressing strong dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs regarding unemployment, education reforms, and transparency in public institutions.
Prakash Raj's Passionate Address to India's Youth
During his impassioned speech, Prakash Raj directly addressed young Indians, urging them to actively engage in shaping their future and demanding their rights. He criticized elected leaders, stating, "The elected leaders should do their jobs. Why have you changed the equation? You are doing politics; we are supposed to do jobs. No! Youth of this country has decided to fight their fight."
“They can call us Pakistanis, they can call us terrorists, they can call us cockroaches. We are not afraid. We will continue to ask questions.”
Raj also condemned attempts to silence activists and protesters with derogatory labels, emphasizing that in a democracy, those who question authority should not be intimidated. He reiterated the resolve of the movement, declaring, "We are not afraid. We will continue to ask questions."
Cockroach Janta Party's Nationwide Campaign
The Bengaluru event is part of a broader nationwide campaign by the Cockroach Janta Party, a youth-led movement that has gained considerable traction across India. The CJP has organized similar protests in various cities, consistently advocating for reforms in the education sector and greater transparency.
Sonam Wangchuk, known for his advocacy on education and environmental issues, lent his support to the gathering, reinforcing the call for systemic changes. Prakash Raj further galvanized the youth by asserting that the country's future belongs to them, stating, "This country belongs to the young people. Your dreams matter. Your future matters. Nobody can take that away from you if you choose to stand together and fight for it."
The CJP has announced plans for a larger mobilization in New Delhi in the coming weeks, signaling their intent to escalate their demands for educational accountability and youth empowerment on a national stage.
