According to Rao, India identifies significant value in participating in a non-Western multilateral forum like BRICS. However, she cautioned against allowing the alliance to evolve into an explicitly anti-Western entity.

In her detailed post on X, Rao stated, "New Delhi... sees value in a grouping that is non-Western, but 'little advantage in allowing it to become explicitly anti-Western.'"
