Sharjah, UAE — An Indian expat, Kishore Pandurang Rao, has secured a life-changing Dh5 million (approximately ₹12.96 crore) prize in the UAE Lottery. The significant win occurred on October 3, just five days shy of his 60th birthday, marking a remarkable turn of events for Rao, who has lived in the UAE for over three decades.

Rao, who first arrived in the UAE in 1993, purchased the winning ticket for Dh50 through the UAE Lottery platform. He utilized the 'Easy Pick' option to generate his numbers and successfully matched all six numbers in the “Days” section of the Lucky Day draw, as reported by The Khaleej Times.

Dreams of a Golden Visa and Global Travel

The lottery win has opened up a myriad of possibilities for Rao and his family. A long-held aspiration for him has been to obtain a UAE Golden Visa, which he now has a clear path to pursue. “I always hoped that one day I would get a Golden Visa,” Rao shared, expressing his excitement about the opportunity.

Beyond residency, Rao plans to use the prize money to build a more secure future for his family while continuing his life in the UAE. He also looks forward to bringing his family closer together in the Emirates after periods of living apart.

Travel is another major item on Rao's agenda. “My goal is that I have to travel around the world,” he stated, emphasizing his desire to explore new places with his wife, who shares his passion for travel.

A Message on Responsible Gaming

Despite his substantial win, Rao emphasized the importance of responsible gaming. He urged participants in lottery games to be mindful of their spending limits. “Everyone should know their own limits,” he advised. “They should set a limit on how much they spend.”

The UAE Lottery, operating under the supervision of the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA), reiterated its commitment to promoting responsible gaming practices and maintaining a transparent and regulated environment for all participants.
