"Love Insurance Kompany" Sees Significant Drop
Vignesh Shivan's directorial, "Love Insurance Kompany," starring Pradeep Ranganathan and Krithi Shetty, experienced a sharp 60% decline in its box office collections on its fourth day. The science fiction romantic comedy, which opened to a promising start, collected an estimated ₹3 crore net on Monday, bringing its total India net collection to ₹25.50 crore.
The global gross for the film now stands at ₹38.50 crore after four days. This significant drop follows a Sunday collection of ₹7.50 crore, indicating that the film's initial momentum has been affected by mixed critical and audience reception.
Detailed Box Office Performance
On its first Monday, "Love Insurance Kompany" managed to achieve an occupancy rate of 20.3% across 3,721 shows nationwide. The Tamil version of the film contributed the majority of Day 4 earnings, collecting ₹2.40 crore with an occupancy of 21%. The Telugu version added ₹60 lakhs, registering a 19% occupancy.

Mixed Reviews Impact Momentum
The film, set in 2040, explores the intriguing concept of technology-driven relationships versus organic love. While the premise has been praised as "terrific" for a sci-fi script, many reviews suggest that a "weak and shallow screenplay" hinders its potential. Critics have noted a lack of emotional depth, despite an energetic performance from Pradeep Ranganathan as Vasu, who challenges a computer algorithm controlling love.
One viewer commented, "The futuristic rom-com Love Insurance Kompany is a mixed experience that squanders a brilliant premise on a weak and shallow screenplay... The film fails to give the story any real emotional depth."
The chemistry between Pradeep Ranganathan and S. J. Suryah, who plays the villainous CEO, has been highlighted as a strong point. However, Krithi Shetty's character has been described as a "flat archetype of a social media addict," failing to resonate emotionally with some audiences. Supporting roles include Yogi Babu and Seeman.
