· · 2 min read

Protean eGov Technologies shares continued their upward trend, rising 7.82% on Tuesday, following a previous 20% surge. This comes despite a 75% year-on-year drop in Q1 FY27 net profit to ₹6 crore, with analysts citing emerging value buying and strong trading volumes.

Shares of Protean eGov Technologies Ltd extended their gains for a second consecutive trading session on Tuesday, with the stock closing 7.82 percent higher at ₹634.05. This recent surge follows a significant 20 percent jump in the previous session, marking a notable rebound after a period of selling pressure and underperformance.

Despite the recent upward momentum, Protean eGov shares remain down 15.64 percent year-to-date and 28.24 percent over the past year. The strong trading activity saw approximately 11.40 lakh shares change hands on the BSE, a substantial increase compared to the two-week average volume of 77,000 shares. The counter's turnover reached ₹71.45 crore, valuing the smallcap company at a market capitalization of ₹2,571.73 crore.

Analysts Weigh In on Protean eGov's Performance

Market experts are closely monitoring Protean eGov's recent movements. Kranthi Bathini, Equity Strategist at WealthMills Securities, noted that the stock has been in a downtrend for several months and has reported disappointing financial results in recent quarters. However, Bathini observed, “Some kind of value buying is emerging in Protean eGov after a long underperformance. Investors with a long-term horizon can consider holding on to the stock.”

Ravi Singh, Chief Research Officer at Master Capital Services, highlighted a strong pullback from near the stock's 52-week lows, accompanied by a significant rise in trading volumes. “Improving volume activity supports the positive technical setup. Sustained volume activity will remain key for the continuation of the upmove,” Singh stated.

Jigar S Patel, Senior Manager – Technical Research at Anand Rathi, provided technical levels for the stock. “Support is placed at Rs 610, while resistance is seen near Rs 660. A decisive move above Rs 660 could trigger a further upside towards Rs 680. The stock is expected to trade within the Rs 610-680 range in the short term,” Patel advised.
