Noida's Jewar Airport Renamed Narendra Modi International Airport by UP Cabinet

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that the Jewar airport in Noida has been officially renamed the Narendra Modi International Airport. The state cabinet approved the resolution, recognizing the airport as a major gift and future aviation hub for the region.

The international airport in Jewar, Noida, will now be known as the Narendra Modi International Airport, following a resolution approved by the Uttar Pradesh state cabinet. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made the announcement on Friday, expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for what he described as a significant gift to the state.

A Major Aviation Hub for Uttar Pradesh

CM Adityanath emphasized the strategic importance of the newly renamed airport, stating it is poised to become Uttar Pradesh's largest airport and a pivotal aviation hub for the entire country. The state cabinet's approval underscores the government's vision for enhanced connectivity and economic growth in the region.

Project Milestones and Operations

  • The Jewar airport was officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi on March 28.
  • Commercial flight operations commenced on June 15 of this year, with initial services provided by carriers such as IndiGo.

The renaming decision reflects the state government's appreciation for the Prime Minister's contributions to infrastructure development in Uttar Pradesh, aiming to solidify the airport's status as a key national asset.
