JSW MG Motor India has officially introduced the Hector Tomahawk Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), marking a significant milestone as the country's first mass-market plug-in hybrid passenger car. The new seven-seater SUV, launched on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, carries an ex-showroom price starting at Rs 25,69,800.
The Hector Tomahawk PHEV comes equipped with a substantial 20.5 kWh battery pack, which powers an impressive 115 km of pure electric driving range. This is complemented by a 1.5-litre petrol hybrid engine, contributing to a remarkable combined range of 1,100 km on a full tank and a full charge.
For customers seeking flexible ownership options, JSW MG Motor is offering a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, with prices for the Hector Tomahawk PHEV starting at Rs 21.79 lakh, alongside a battery rental fee of Rs 3.2 per kilometer. The premium Essence 7S trim is priced at Rs 27,79,800 (ex-showroom).
Deliveries for the innovative plug-in hybrid vehicle are scheduled to commence in November 2026. The Hector Tomahawk PHEV will be available in a diverse palette of colors, including Pearl White, Starry Black, Aurora Silver, Celadon Blue, Turquoise Green, and Shadow Gold, in addition to two distinctive dual-tone combinations.
This launch signifies a crucial expansion of PHEV technology in India, a segment previously dominated exclusively by luxury German automotive manufacturers like BMW and Mercedes-Benz. JSW MG Motor's entry aims to make plug-in hybrid technology more accessible to a broader consumer base in the Indian market.
