· · 2 min read

Dubai's Gold District is set to open the world's first and longest 24-carat gold walkway within two months. This new attraction aims to boost tourism and reinforce the city's status as a premier global gold trading hub.

Dubai is set to unveil a groundbreaking new tourist attraction: the world’s first and longest 24-carat gold walkway. Located within the bustling Dubai Gold District, this opulent pathway is expected to open its golden gates to residents and tourists within the next two months, according to officials.

The ambitious project is designed to offer a truly distinctive experience, allowing visitors to physically walk along a path made of pure gold. Rashid Al Harmoudi, Senior Director of the Commercial Sector at the Dubai Gold District, emphasized that the initiative serves a dual purpose: to create a unique draw for global tourism and to further solidify Dubai's already strong position as a premier international hub for gold trading.

A Golden Path to Global Recognition

This innovative 24-carat gold walkway is anticipated to be a significant addition to Dubai’s array of luxury attractions. Its opening comes as the Dubai Gold District continues to expand its offerings and infrastructure related to gold and jewellery.

The announcement follows recent successes, including Dubai setting two Guinness World Records for the heaviest and largest pairs of gold earrings, crafted in the traditional jhumka style, further highlighting the district's commitment to showcasing exceptional gold craftsmanship and trade.

Expanding the Gold & Jewellery Landscape

Beyond the new gold walkway, the Dubai Gold District is actively pursuing other major developments. Plans are underway for an exhibition project that aims to become the largest gold and jewellery trade exhibition in the entire West Asia region. This initiative is expected to draw even more international attention and business to the district.

The district has already experienced substantial growth in the gold and jewellery sector this year. The number of wholesale gold trading offices has surged by 20%, while new retail stores specializing in gold, jewellery, precious stones, and luxury watches have increased by 15%. Further expansion is anticipated, with Al Harmoudi projecting a 10% to 20% rise in companies relocating to the district in the coming year, supported by the development of new office and retail spaces.
