Vivo V80 Lite Teasers Emerge Ahead of Expected India Launch

· · 3 min read

Teasers for the Vivo V80 Lite 5G have appeared in India and Pakistan, hinting at an imminent global launch. Certification listings reveal a curved display and suggest potential specifications, including a 6.83-inch AMOLED screen and a 7050mAh battery.

Anticipation is building for Vivo’s next V-series smartphone, the Vivo V80 Lite 5G, as early teasers and certification listings surface. While Vivo has yet to make an official announcement, these appearances offer a preliminary look at what could be one of the brand’s upcoming mid-range devices.

Reports indicate that teasers for the V80 Lite have emerged in Pakistan, alongside an Instagram post from an offline retailer in Shajapur, Madhya Pradesh, India. These early glimpses confirm the presence of a curved display, although most other design elements and detailed specifications remain under wraps for now. This comes amidst previous suggestions that the broader Vivo V80 series might face delays.

Certification Listings Point to Global Release

The Vivo V80 Lite 5G has been spotted across numerous certification and database platforms, strongly suggesting an impending global launch. The device, bearing model number V2626, has appeared on Malaysia's SIRIM database. Further listings include Google Play Supported Devices, Geekbench, TUV, and Bluetooth SIG databases. Its presence on Europe’s EEC certification platform additionally indicates a potential release in European markets.

These widespread certifications have fueled speculation that the V80 Lite could be a rebadged version of the Vivo S2, which recently launched in India under model number V2576. Reusing existing hardware with a different moniker is a common strategy for smartphone manufacturers to streamline regional product lineups.

Expected Specifications and Features

If the Vivo V80 Lite indeed shares its foundation with the Vivo S2, consumers could anticipate a robust set of features. The display is rumored to be a large 6.83-inch AMOLED panel, offering 1.5K resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Powering the device could be a substantial 7050mAh battery, all while maintaining a relatively slim 7.39mm profile.

Regarding processing power, early reports hinted at a Dimensity 7360 Turbo chipset, though a Geekbench listing for model V2626 points to the Dimensity 7300e. It's possible different markets may receive variants with different chipsets. Charging speeds also vary in speculation, with TUV certification indicating 44W support, while earlier leaks suggested a faster 90W capability.

Camera and Other Features

  • Selfie Camera: A 32MP front-facing camera.
  • Rear Cameras: A 50MP Sony IMX852 primary sensor, complemented by an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and Vivo’s signature Aura Light feature.
  • Audio: Stereo speakers for an enhanced listening experience.
  • Security: An in-display fingerprint sensor.
  • Durability: IP68/IP69 rating for dust and water resistance.
  • Software: Expected to run on Android 16-based OriginOS 6.

As of now, Vivo has not officially confirmed the V80 Lite’s pricing, complete specifications, or launch date. Prospective buyers are advised to await the company's official announcement for definitive details on its configuration and final market price.
