Yash's 'Toxic' Delayed Again; Varun Dhawan's 'Hai Jawani' Moves to June 5, 2026

· · 2 min read

Yash's highly anticipated film 'Toxic' has been postponed for a second time, with makers citing global distribution alignments. This shift has allowed Varun Dhawan's comedy 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai' to claim its original June 5, 2026, release date.

Kannada superstar Yash's upcoming period gangster film, 'Toxic', has been delayed for a second time this year. The film, which was initially set for a June 4, 2026, release, will now announce a new worldwide premiere date later. This rescheduling has, in turn, allowed Varun Dhawan's romantic comedy 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai' to revert to its previously intended release slot of June 5, 2026.

'Toxic' Postponement Driven by Global Strategy

The makers of 'Toxic' confirmed the delay through an official statement, emphasizing that the film is complete but requires further alignment for global distribution and partnerships. The decision follows an overwhelmingly positive reception at CinemaCon, which reportedly opened up opportunities for a significantly wider international release. Film critic Taran Adarsh noted that the strong response prompted the team to recalibrate their release strategy to maximize the film's global potential.

Directed by Geethu Mohandas, 'Toxic' features Yash in a double role as Rayaa and Ticket. The ensemble cast also includes prominent actors such as Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth, and Akshay Oberoi.

Varun Dhawan's 'Hai Jawani' Secures June 5, 2026 Slot

With 'Toxic' vacating its early June date, Varun Dhawan took to Instagram to announce that his film, 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai', will now release on June 5, 2026. The comedy was originally slated for May 22 but will now take its earlier planned date. Dhawan expressed gratitude to Yash and Maddock Films for facilitating the calendar reset, jokingly adding that his film would be the first to release post-IPL in 2026.
