Christopher Nolan's epic film, "The Odyssey," has officially entered India's ₹100 crore club, boosting its total net collection to ₹108.20 crore after a significant 61.3% jump on its ninth day. The film continues to benefit from strong word of mouth and demand for premium formats.

Christopher Nolan's latest cinematic spectacle, "The Odyssey," has achieved a significant milestone in India, officially entering the coveted ₹100 crore club. The film experienced a massive surge in its box office collections on its ninth day, highlighting strong audience reception and sustained demand.

"The Odyssey" Box Office Performance in India

According to industry reports, "The Odyssey" garnered an impressive ₹11.05 crore net on its ninth day, marking a substantial 61.3% growth compared to its Day 8 earnings of ₹6.85 crore. This robust performance pushed the film's total India net collection to ₹108.20 crore, with its India gross collection reaching ₹129.15 crore. The Day 9 collections were generated from 4,591 shows across the country.

The film's success is attributed to strong word of mouth, positive critical reviews, and high demand for premium viewing formats like IMAX. Despite carrying an 'A' (Adults Only) certificate, "The Odyssey" has maintained a powerful theatrical run across its English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu versions, with the original English version contributing the majority of its earnings.

Weekend Momentum and Global Reach

"The Odyssey" posted an impressive first-week total of ₹90.30 crore net in India, opening with ₹17.40 crore on its first Friday, followed by ₹22 crore on Saturday, and ₹21.90 crore on Sunday. While weekday collections saw a dip, they remained steady, with a notable rebound on the second Friday (₹6.85 crore) before its significant Day 9 jump, signaling healthy weekend momentum.

Beyond India, the film has also achieved considerable global success. Reports indicate "The Odyssey" earned $51 million on its second Friday from North American theaters. Worldwide, the film has grossed an estimated $257.8 million, including $137.3 million from international markets. These figures position "The Odyssey" to potentially become Christopher Nolan's biggest global opening to date, surpassing previous blockbusters like "The Dark Knight Rises," "The Dark Knight," and "Oppenheimer."

The Epic's Cast and Premise

Released on July 15, "The Odyssey" is based on Homer's ancient Greek epic poem, following Odysseus, the King of Ithaca, on his perilous journey home after the Trojan War. The film features an ensemble cast including Matt Damon as Odysseus and Tom Holland as Telemachus, alongside Robert Pattinson, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, Lupita Nyong'o, Zendaya, and others.
