Voltas Shares Rise 5% After Record 1 Million AC Sales in Three Months

· · 2 min read

Voltas Ltd. shares climbed over 5% after the company announced it sold 1 million room air conditioners in the first three months of the current financial year. This achievement solidifies its market leadership in India's RAC segment.

Shares of Voltas Ltd., a Tata group company, saw a significant surge of over 5% in Monday's trading. The rise followed the company's announcement that it had achieved a milestone of selling 10 lakh (one million) room air conditioners (RACs) within the first three months of the current financial year.

This record-breaking sales performance, as reported to stock exchanges BSE and NSE, pushed Voltas' stock price to a high of Rs 1,411 per share. The company emphasized that this accomplishment further strengthens its dominant position in the Indian room air-conditioner market, attributing the success to encouraging demand across various markets.

Market Leadership and Strategic Initiatives

Jayant Balan, Head of Voltas' room air conditioner business, expressed optimism about building on this momentum. He stated, "We look forward to building on this momentum, reaching more households across the country and achieving many more milestones in the months ahead."

Managing Director Mukundan Menon highlighted the significance of the achievement. "Crossing the one million sales milestone within the first 3 months of a financial year is a significant achievement for Voltas. Achieving this landmark in record time reflects the trust that consumers have placed in our brand and the strength of the execution delivered by our teams and channel partners across the country," Menon commented.

Voltas has also refreshed its product portfolio with a strategic segmentation approach. This involves offering differentiated propositions across premium, mid, and value segments, enabling the company to cater to a broader range of consumer needs and strengthen its presence across key price points.

Broader Business Portfolio

Beyond room air conditioners, Voltas has diversified its offerings. The company has expanded into the home appliances segment through Voltbek Home Appliance Pvt Ltd., providing a wide array of innovative products. Its comprehensive portfolio also includes commercial refrigeration units, air coolers, water heaters, fans, water dispensers, water coolers, and commercial air conditioning solutions.

For the March quarter, Voltas reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 116 crore on a revenue of Rs 4,888 crore. With summer continuing across many parts of India, Voltas remains focused on meeting the growing cooling demands of Indian consumers and reinforcing its status as the nation's leading AC brand.
