Vodafone Idea announced Kumar Mangalam Birla's appointment as its new non-executive chairman, effective May 5, 2026. Ravinder Takkar stepped down from the chairman role but remains on the board as non-executive vice chairman.

Vodafone Idea, a prominent telecommunications provider, has announced a significant leadership change with the appointment of Kumar Mangalam Birla as its new non-executive chairman. The decision, effective May 5, 2026, was approved by the company's board of directors.

Birla, who previously served as a non-executive director on the Vodafone Idea board, takes over the chairman position from Ravinder Takkar. Takkar, while stepping down from the non-executive chairman role, will continue his involvement with the company. The board has also approved his appointment as the non-executive vice chairman, ensuring his ongoing contribution to the company's strategic direction.

The company confirmed these changes in a regulatory filing to both the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and BSE, adhering to Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015. This leadership transition marks a notable development for Vodafone Idea as it continues to navigate India's competitive telecom landscape.
