Explore the 2026 fixed deposit interest rates offered by Unity Small Finance Bank and Utkarsh Small Finance Bank. Unity SFB leads with up to 9.50% for senior citizens, while Utkarsh offers competitive rates up to 8.25%.

Small Finance Banks (SFBs) continue to be a top choice for Indian investors seeking higher fixed deposit (FD) interest rates. As of July 2026, Unity Small Finance Bank and Utkarsh Small Finance Bank stand out with competitive offerings. This comparison helps investors determine which institution provides better returns for their savings goals.

Unity Small Finance Bank: Leading Rates for Many Tenures

Unity Small Finance Bank offers some of the most attractive FD rates for deposits under ₹2 crore. General customers can find rates ranging from 4.50% to 9.00%, while senior citizens benefit from rates between 4.50% and 9.50%. The highest rate for both categories is achieved on a specific tenure of 1,001 days, with general customers earning 9.00% and senior citizens receiving 9.50%.

Beyond the 1,001-day tenure, Unity SFB also provides strong returns on special periods like 501 days and 701 days, offering 8.75% interest. For shorter durations, Unity SFB maintains an advantage, with rates up to 8.25% for deposits between six months and 201 days.

Utkarsh Small Finance Bank: Competitive Offerings with Flexibility

Utkarsh Small Finance Bank provides fixed deposit rates ranging from 4.00% to 7.50% for general customers and 4.50% to 8.00% for senior citizens on deposits below ₹3 crore with premature withdrawal options. For larger deposits between ₹1 crore and ₹3 crore without premature withdrawal, the rates climb to 7.75% for general customers and 8.25% for senior citizens, particularly on two-to-three-year tenures.

While Utkarsh SFB's short-term rates are generally lower than Unity's, it offers competitive returns for medium-term deposits. For instance, deposits between two and three years yield 7.50% for general customers, and three-to-four-year FDs offer 7.25%.

Comparing Short-Term and Long-Term FD Returns

For short-term FDs up to 45 days, Unity SFB offers 4.50% to 4.75%, surpassing Utkarsh SFB's 4.00%. This trend continues for periods up to one year, where Unity consistently provides higher rates. For example, Unity offers up to 8.25% for deposits over six months up to 201 days, significantly higher than Utkarsh's maximum of 6.00% for similar durations.

In the long-term segment, Unity Small Finance Bank also holds an edge. It offers 8.15% for deposits between 1,002 days and five years, and 7.50% for durations beyond five years. Utkarsh SFB's long-term rates include 7.00% for four to five years and 6.75% for deposits exceeding five years, generally lower than Unity's for comparable periods.

Which Small Finance Bank FD is Right for You?

For investors prioritizing the absolute highest interest rates, Unity Small Finance Bank appears to be the more attractive option, especially for its special tenures of 501, 701, and 1,001 days, where it offers peak returns of up to 9.50% for senior citizens.

Utkarsh Small Finance Bank, however, could appeal to those seeking more conventional tenure structures and flexibility regarding premature withdrawals, particularly for deposits within the ₹1 crore to ₹3 crore range. Both banks offer deposit tenures from seven days to 10 years, providing a wide range of options.

All deposits with scheduled banks, including small finance banks, are insured up to ₹5 lakh per depositor by the Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation (DICGC). This provides a crucial layer of security for investors.

Before making an investment decision, it is always advisable to verify the latest interest rates directly with the banks, as rates are subject to periodic revisions. Consider your liquidity needs, premature withdrawal penalties, and overall financial goals alongside interest rates.
