Transrail Lighting Shares Jump 14% on 70% Conductor Manufacturing Capacity Boost

Transrail Lighting Ltd. shares surged nearly 14.7% today after the company announced the completion of Phase 1 of its conductor manufacturing facility expansion in Silvassa. This strategic move increases its total installed capacity by 70%.

Shares of Transrail Lighting Ltd. experienced a significant surge, climbing 14.69 percent in Tuesday's trading to reach a high of Rs 475. The stock was last seen trading 13.80 percent higher at Rs 471.30. This sharp upward movement occurred despite the company's shares having been down nearly 40 percent over the past year.

The positive market reaction followed Transrail Lighting's announcement regarding the completion of Phase 1 of its brownfield expansion for the conductor manufacturing facility located in Silvassa. This expansion marks a substantial increase in the company's production capabilities.

Capacity Expansion Details

With the completion of this phase, Transrail Lighting's total installed conductor manufacturing capacity has grown from 24,000 kilometers per annum to 40,800 kilometers per annum. This represents a significant 70 percent increase in its manufacturing potential.

"This expansion marks a significant milestone in strengthening the Company's conductor manufacturing capabilities which enhances its execution efficiencies and capacity to cater to growing markets," stated Randeep Narang, MD & CEO of Transrail Lighting.

The company emphasized that this expansion will bolster its conductor manufacturing capabilities, improve execution efficiencies, and enhance its ability to serve expanding markets for power transmission and distribution products.

Transrail Lighting is an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company primarily focused on the power transmission and distribution sector. The day's trading saw around 8.99 lakh shares change hands on the BSE, a volume significantly higher than the two-week average of 36,000 shares. The turnover on the small-cap counter reached Rs 41.47 crore, contributing to a market capitalization of Rs 6,363.06 crore.
