Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has taken significant steps in response to serious allegations surrounding its Nashik unit, engaging external experts to support an ongoing internal investigation. The company's CEO and MD, K Krithivasan, announced that expert teams from Deloitte and the prominent law firm Trilegal have been brought in as independent counsel to assist the probe, which is led by TCS President and COO, Aarthi Subramanian.
In a statement, Krithivasan also revealed the formation of an Oversight Committee, chaired by Independent Director Mr. Keki Mistry, which will review the findings and recommendations of the internal investigation.
Clarifying Nida Khan's Role and Unit Operations
Addressing specific media reports, Krithivasan clarified the role of Ms. Nida Khan, who has been frequently identified as an HR manager in connection with the case. He stated, “Ms. Nida Khan, who is being repeatedly mentioned in the press as HR manager of TCS, is neither HR manager nor responsible for recruitment. She served as a process associate and did not hold any leadership responsibilities.”
The CEO also refuted claims regarding the operational status of the Nashik facility, asserting that the unit remains active and continues to serve clients, contradicting reports of its closure.
Investigation Details and Company Stance
The internal review by TCS is underway, with Krithivasan noting that a preliminary assessment of systems and records for the Nashik unit indicates no complaints of the alleged nature have been received through the company's ethics or POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) channels.
This corporate action follows the registration of multiple cases earlier this month concerning allegations of molestation, harassment, and religious coercion at the Nashik facility. Police have established a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to examine nine First Information Reports (FIRs) related to the matter, leading to the arrest of eight employees, including a female operations manager. Nida Khan has been identified by police as a key accused, with multiple teams actively tracing her across Maharashtra.
Krithivasan reiterated TCS’s commitment to employee welfare and institutional conduct, stating the company has a “zero-tolerance policy towards any form of coercion or misconduct.” He affirmed TCS is fully cooperating with law enforcement to ensure a thorough, transparent investigation and a just resolution.
