Tata Motors has announced a price increase for its Punch EV lineup, with select variants seeing a hike of up to ₹20,000. This revision comes just months after the electric SUV received a facelift in February 2026, making it slightly more expensive for prospective buyers.
Details of the Price Revision
The price adjustments are primarily dependent on the battery pack size. Variants equipped with the 30 kWh battery pack, specifically the Smart and Smart+ trims, will now cost ₹10,000 more. For the 40 kWh versions, which include the Smart+, Adventure, Empowered, and Empowered+ S variants, the price hike is a steeper ₹20,000.
Following this revision, the ex-showroom price range for the Tata Punch EV now stands between ₹9.79 lakh and ₹12.99 lakh. The company attributes this move to broader input-cost pressures, a factor that also led to a smaller price increase of ₹5,000–₹10,000 for the internal-combustion engine (ICE) Punch lineup.
No Feature or Mechanical Changes
It is important to note that this price update is purely a financial adjustment. Tata Motors has confirmed that no new features, equipment changes, or powertrain modifications have been introduced alongside the hike. Existing owners will not be affected by this change, as it applies only to fresh bookings made from September 2026 onwards.

Even a modest price increase can influence the value proposition of the Punch EV, which serves as an entry point to Tata's electric vehicle portfolio and is one of the most affordable electric SUVs available in India. Punch EV Powertrain and Key Features
The Tata Punch EV is offered with two LFP battery pack options, both powering the front wheels. The 30 kWh unit is paired with an 87–88 bhp motor, delivering 154 Nm of torque and a claimed MIDC range of up to 375 km. The larger 40 kWh pack powers a 127–129 bhp motor, also producing 154 Nm of torque, and offers an extended range of up to 468 km. Both versions use a single-speed gearbox.
Distinguishing itself from its petrol and CNG counterparts, the EV variant incorporates several electric-specific and premium features. These include multi-mode regenerative braking with one-pedal drive capability, a convenient front charging port with an indicator, and connected-car functions that allow owners to monitor charge status, pre-condition the cabin, and even operate the sunroof via a mobile app.
Higher trims of the Punch EV further enhance the offering with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) such as forward collision warning, lane functions, and rear collision assist. Other premium additions include a voice-assisted electric sunroof, ventilated front seats, an air purifier with AQI display, cruise control, and a 360° camera with a blind-view monitor. These features are either absent or limited to the top-tier ICE/CNG variants, underscoring the EV's premium positioning.
