Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the fourth film in the MCU's Spider-Man series premiered to massive crowds. On its opening day, Thursday, the actioner pulled in an impressive ₹60.60 crore. Despite an 18.6% dip on its second day, Friday, the film still added a robust ₹49.35 crore to its tally, bringing its total net India box office collection to ₹109.95 crore, according to film trade portal Sacnilk. The gross collection for the first two days stands at ₹131.46 crore.
Audience enthusiasm remained high, with English language shows on Friday recording an overall occupancy of 49.31%, peaking at 66.78% during night screenings. Hindi language shows demonstrated even stronger engagement, registering an impressive 90% overall occupancy on the same day.
Weekend Projections Soar
Film trade experts are optimistic about Spider-Man: Brand New Day's continued performance. If the current momentum holds, the film is on track to surpass the ₹200 crore milestone during its extended opening weekend. Reports from Bollywood Hungama suggest the film could even achieve an opening weekend of ₹235 crore in India, with Saturday and Sunday anticipated to be its strongest days. Some projections indicate it might even approach the ₹250 crore mark.
