Royal Enfield has announced significant updates for its popular Classic 350 model for the 2026 year, introducing two key features designed to enhance rider convenience and safety. The most notable additions are an assist and slipper clutch, along with a faster USB Type-C charging port, making the Classic 350 more practical for daily commuting.
Smoother Riding with Assist and Slipper Clutch
The newly integrated assist and slipper clutch is a major upgrade for the Classic 350, previously seen on other 350cc models from the manufacturer. This technology is exclusive to the dual-channel ABS variants. It significantly reduces the effort required to operate the clutch lever, which is a welcome improvement for riders navigating heavy city traffic. Furthermore, the slipper clutch mechanism helps prevent the rear wheel from hopping or locking up during aggressive downshifts, leading to smoother gear transitions and boosting rider confidence on the road.
Convenient USB Type-C Charging
In a nod to modern connectivity needs, the updated Classic 350 also features a faster USB Type-C charging port. Discreetly positioned on the motorcycle, this port allows riders to efficiently charge their smartphones and other electronic devices while on the move, adding a layer of practicality for longer rides or daily commutes.
Pricing and Variants
While these new features enhance the riding experience, Royal Enfield has maintained the base Redditch Red variant without the assist and slipper clutch or USB-C port. This single-channel ABS model retains its previous pricing of ₹1.87 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). However, the updated dual-channel ABS variants, which now include the assist and slipper clutch, begin at a starting price of ₹1.95 lakh (ex-showroom).
Unchanged Performance and Classic Appeal
Mechanically, the 2026 Classic 350 remains consistent with its predecessor. It continues to be powered by Royal Enfield's reliable 349cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder J-series engine. This engine delivers 20.2 hp and 27 Nm of peak torque, paired with a five-speed gearbox. The motorcycle also retains its beloved retro styling, comfortable ergonomics, and touring-friendly characteristics that have cemented its status as one of Royal Enfield's best-selling models. These updates underscore Royal Enfield's commitment to gradually enhancing its 350cc lineup, balancing modern functionality with timeless design.
