Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian during the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Bishkek on Monday, August 31, 2026. According to Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaisawal, the Prime Minister also highlighted the critical need to safeguard freedom of navigation and commerce in regional waterways, an issue of global importance.
