Rhetan TMT and Bajaj Tubular Ink MoU for ₹250-₹300 Crore TMT Bar Supply

· · 2 min read

Rhetan TMT Ltd. has signed an MoU with Bajaj Tubular Products for the potential supply of 20,000 tonnes of TMT bars over 24 months. This agreement could generate ₹250–₹300 crore in business, enhancing Rhetan's capacity utilization and customer base.

Rhetan TMT Ltd., a Gujarat-based manufacturer of TMT and round bars, has announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bajaj Tubular Products. The agreement outlines the proposed purchase of approximately 20,000 tonnes of thermo-mechanically treated (TMT) bars over a 24-month period.

This strategic arrangement is estimated to represent a potential business opportunity valued between ₹250 crore and ₹300 crore for Rhetan TMT. Company officials anticipate that the MoU, if it translates into firm orders, could significantly boost sales volumes and improve the utilization of its manufacturing capacity, while also broadening its customer reach.

Details of the Potential Supply Agreement

The MoU specifies an indicative quantity, and the estimated business value does not guarantee a fixed order or revenue. Actual supplies under the agreement will be executed against individual purchase orders, contingent on Bajaj Tubular's specific business and project requirements. Final volumes will also depend on product availability, agreed-upon delivery schedules, and Rhetan TMT's production capabilities.

Enhancing Operational Efficiency

The potential partnership is expected to provide Rhetan TMT with a recurring customer, contributing to more stable sales and operational planning. This development coincides with Rhetan's 1 MW captive solar power project at Kadi, Gujarat, commencing operations. This solar facility is now generating renewable electricity, supporting the company's manufacturing plants.

Investors and market observers will closely monitor the conversion of this MoU into firm orders and the subsequent pace of execution, as these will be key indicators of the agreement's success and impact on Rhetan TMT's financial performance.
