· · 3 min read

Rentomojo's initial public offering is now open for subscription, aiming to raise ₹700 crore. The furniture and appliance rental platform has set its price band at ₹280-295 per share. Investors are advised to review the company's financials and potential risks before subscribing.

Bengaluru-based furniture and appliance rental platform Rentomojo has launched its initial public offering (IPO) today, seeking to raise ₹700 crore from the primary market. The public issue, which consists entirely of a fresh issue of shares, is open for subscription from September 9 to September 13, 2026.

IPO Details at a Glance

The company has fixed the price band for its shares at ₹280 to ₹295 per equity share. Investors can bid for a minimum of 50 shares and in multiples thereof. The IPO lot size means retail investors would need a minimum investment of ₹14,750 at the upper end of the price band.

The book-running lead managers for the issue are ICICI Securities and Kotak Mahindra Capital Company. Link Intime India Private Ltd. has been appointed as the registrar for the IPO.

Company Overview and Financials

Rentomojo, officially known as Edunetwork Private Limited, operates in the asset-light furniture and appliance rental space, catering to urban millennials and young professionals. The company offers a wide range of products including furniture, appliances, electronics, and fitness equipment on flexible rental plans.

In its draft red herring prospectus (DRHP), Rentomojo reported a strong growth trajectory, with revenues increasing by 45% year-on-year in the last fiscal, reaching ₹280 crore. While the company has been focused on expansion, it has also shown improving profitability metrics, with a significant reduction in net losses over the past two years, nearing break-even.

Key Risks and Investor Considerations

Prospective investors should consider several key risks associated with the Rentomojo IPO. These include intense competition in the rental market, dependence on third-party logistics and product sourcing, and the potential impact of economic downturns on discretionary spending for rental services. Furthermore, the company's ability to scale operations profitably while managing asset wear and tear will be crucial for long-term success.

“The rental economy is growing, but so is competition. Rentomojo's asset-light model provides flexibility, yet sustained profitability will hinge on efficient customer acquisition and robust asset management,” noted an analyst from a leading brokerage firm.

Subscription Outlook

Market observers indicate a cautious yet optimistic outlook for the Rentomojo IPO, given the growing demand for flexible living solutions. The grey market premium (GMP) for Rentomojo shares is currently hovering around ₹45-50, suggesting a potential listing gain. However, investors are advised to conduct their own due diligence and consult financial advisors before making investment decisions, as GMP is not an official indicator.

The proceeds from the fresh issue are intended to be utilized for funding working capital requirements, repayment of certain borrowings, and general corporate purposes, supporting Rentomojo's continued expansion plans.
