Companies Making Headlines

Biocon

Reports indicate that Active Pine, an entity owned by private equity firm True North, is planning to offload approximately 1.66 crore shares of biopharma major Biocon. This represents about 1 percent of Biocon's paid-up equity, with the block deal valued at around Rs 638.4 crore and a floor price of Rs 385 per share.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)

IT giant TCS has secured a substantial contract worth Rs 122.6 crore from the Odisha government. This agreement involves implementing OSWAS 3.0, an upgrade to the existing platform used across over 4,600 government offices. The project extends TCS's partnership by approximately six years and will integrate workflow automation, analytics, security, and AI capabilities.

Bank of Baroda

The public sector lender, Bank of Baroda, intends to divest up to 76,90,375 NSE shares, accounting for 35 percent of its current holding, through an offer-for-sale. This move is part of NSE's proposed Initial Public Offering (IPO), pending necessary regulatory approvals. The shares were transferred to an escrow account on September 8, with the sale anticipated to finalize by the end of September.

Innovision

Professional services firm Innovision has received a Letter of Award (LoA) valued at Rs 243.6 crore. This contract is for engaging a user fee collection agency for IDTL A and IDTL B fee plazas on the six-laned Indore-Dewas section of NH-3, and the Pachwara fee plaza on the NH-39 Jhansi-Khajuraho section in Madhya Pradesh.

NLC India

NLC India Renewables (NIRL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of state-run energy company NLC India, has been awarded a Letter of Award from SJVN for the development of a 200 MW wind power project.

Enviro Infra Engineers

Suyog Urja, a subsidiary of Enviro Infra Engineers, has secured an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) turnkey contract worth Rs 189.99 crore from Tata Power Renewable Energy. This contract is for the development of the 180 MW NTPC Wind Power Project located at Parli, Maharashtra.

Berger Paints

Paint manufacturer Berger Paints announced that its new, fully automated solvent-based paint manufacturing facility in Hindupur, Andhra Pradesh, is scheduled to commence commercial production from Wednesday, September 9.

Raymond

The board of Raymond has given its approval for raising funds totaling Rs 214.71 crore. This will be achieved through the issuance of 33.29 lakh convertible warrants, priced at Rs 645 per warrant, via a preferential allotment on a private placement basis to Minerva Ventures Fund.

Great Eastern Shipping Company

Great Eastern Shipping Company has entered into an agreement to acquire a second-hand Kamsarmax dry bulk carrier. The 2019-built vessel, with a capacity of approximately 81,609 dwt, is expected to join the company's fleet in Q3 FY27 and will be financed entirely through internal accruals.

AI and semiconductor firm Moschip Technologies has been directed by the Supreme Court to provide additional security of Rs 200 crore by September 15. This directive relates to an ongoing dispute concerning its proposed acquisition of 73 percent of Vayavya Labs' equity share capital. The company clarified that this direction does not have any financial, operational, or other impact on its business.

Nutrition and pharma company Fermenta Biotech has signed an exclusive license agreement with Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore. This agreement is for the commercialization of a technology focused on natural in-situ vitamin B12 fortification in fermented foods.

Rajan Venkatesh has tendered his resignation as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD & CEO) of Laxmi Organic Industries, effective November 13, 2026, to pursue other opportunities.
