Raymond Shares Soar 57% in Two Weeks Amid Cotton Duty Relief & Aerospace Expansion

· · 2 min read

Raymond Ltd. shares have surged over 57% in the past two weeks, hitting a new record high. The rally is fueled by potential raw cotton customs duty relief, a significant warrant issue, and its expansion into aerospace manufacturing.

Shares of Raymond Ltd. have experienced a remarkable surge, rallying over 57% in the past two weeks to hit a fresh record high of Rs 1,024 on Friday. The stock closed 15.52% higher at Rs 986, indicating strong investor confidence.

This significant price movement was accompanied by heavy trading activity, with approximately 9.65 lakh Raymond shares changing hands on the BSE, substantially higher than the two-week average volume of 2.66 lakh shares. The counter registered a turnover of Rs 92.51 crore, pushing the company's market capitalization to Rs 6,554.52 crore.

Key Catalysts Driving Raymond's Stock Surge

Market experts point to several factors fueling Raymond's impressive performance:

  • Potential Customs Duty Exemption: A major driver is the government's consideration of extending the customs duty exemption on raw cotton beyond October 31. Ravi Singh, Chief Research Officer at Master Capital Services, noted that such an extension would provide significant relief to textile manufacturers by mitigating elevated input costs. This move is expected to bolster margins and improve overall sentiment within the textile sector, benefiting Raymond directly.
  • Strategic Funding Initiative: The company recently approved the issuance of 33.29 lakh convertible warrants to Minerva Ventures Fund at Rs 645 per warrant, aiming to raise up to Rs 214.71 crore. This capital infusion is seen as a positive development from a funding perspective, strengthening Raymond's financial position.
  • Aerospace Expansion: Kranthi Bathini, Equity Strategist at WealthMills Securities, highlighted Raymond's expansion of its precision engineering division into aerospace manufacturing. This diversification into a high-growth "sunrise sector" in India is viewed positively for the company's medium- to longer-term prospects, with promising order books and earnings visibility.

Technical Outlook Remains Bullish

From a technical standpoint, Raymond's stock exhibits strong relative strength, having achieved a new all-time high. Ravi Singh commented that the stock maintains a positive price structure with robust momentum, indicating continued buyer dominance. The prevailing trend suggests further upside potential, possibly towards Rs 1,130. Analysts advise viewing any meaningful dips as opportunities for accumulation rather than signals of a trend reversal, as the overall setup remains bullish as long as the stock sustains its higher-high and higher-low structure.

Investors with a long-term horizon are encouraged to monitor the counter, given its strategic business expansions and favorable market conditions.
