Larsen & Toubro's Power Transmission & Distribution business has secured a series of "mega orders" valued between ₹10,000 crore and ₹15,000 crore. These significant contracts will see the company enhance power transmission infrastructure across India, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

The projects are designed to strengthen existing power grids and facilitate the evacuation of renewable energy, supporting the growing demand for sustainable electricity solutions in these regions.

Key Projects Across Three Nations

In Saudi Arabia, L&T will undertake projects within the 380 kV transmission and substation segments. These initiatives are crucial for expanding the kingdom's transmission capacity and integrating its burgeoning renewable energy sources into the national grid.

For the United Arab Emirates, the company has secured orders to construct 132/11 kV substations, along with all associated cabling work, further bolstering the nation's local power distribution capabilities.

Within India, L&T is set to establish a comprehensive transmission system for a prominent private sector developer in Visakhapatnam. This system will encompass both transmission lines and substations, adding vital infrastructure to the country's energy network.

L&T's Engineering Prowess

Mr. Joji Sebastian, Executive Vice President & Head of Power Transmission & Distribution at L&T, emphasized the company's robust engineering and execution capabilities. "These orders demonstrate our ability to deliver complex power infrastructure solutions across geographies," Sebastian stated, highlighting the firm's global reach and technical expertise.

Sebastian also noted the increasing global demand for grid strengthening, greater integration of renewable energy, and the related infrastructure required to support these transitions. L&T aims to leverage its technology, project execution experience, and international presence to deliver value to its clients.

Larsen & Toubro, an Indian multinational with a valuation of USD 32 billion, is actively involved in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects, high-tech manufacturing, and various products and services. The company classifies orders between ₹10,000 crore and ₹15,000 crore as "mega orders," signifying their substantial scale and impact.
