Regional carrier FLY91 is undertaking its most significant network expansion since its inception, commencing operations from Navi Mumbai and significantly increasing its flight frequencies. The airline's Winter Schedule for 2026-27, set to begin at the end of October, will see its network grow to 14 destinations across India.
Major Network Growth and Increased Frequencies
This expansion follows the recent induction of FLY91's sixth ATR aircraft, enabling a substantial boost in operational capacity. The airline plans to increase its weekly flights by more than 26%, from 280 to 354, offering passengers greater travel flexibility and convenience.
Navi Mumbai is a key addition, becoming FLY91's 14th destination. From this new aviation gateway, the airline will establish connections to various points across its network, including Sindhudurg, Jalgaon, Goa (GOX), and Agatti in Lakshadweep. This move aims to unlock new travel opportunities for passengers and leverage India's newest major airport infrastructure.
Strengthening Connectivity and Operational Efficiency
A notable aspect of the upcoming winter schedule is the enhanced connectivity to Tirupati, which joined the FLY91 network just last month as the 13th destination. Manoj Chacko, Founder, Managing Director, and CEO of FLY91, stated, "We are significantly strengthening connectivity to Tirupati in response to robust passenger demand."
Chacko further highlighted the strategic benefits of this expansion: "As our network grows, we are able to improve aircraft utilisation, enhance connectivity options for passengers and realise stronger operating efficiencies." The addition of higher frequencies, improved network connectivity, and increased aircraft utilisation are expected to contribute to stronger operating economics for the airline.
Future Outlook for Regional Aviation
This expansion comes on the heels of FLY91's recent order for 40 aircraft, a landmark deal representing the largest single order ever placed by a regional airline globally. This substantial investment underscores the airline's long-term commitment to regional aviation and its confidence in the burgeoning demand for direct air connectivity between India's emerging cities and regional hubs. Tickets for the expanded winter schedule are now available for booking.
