Devotees have generously contributed approximately ₹3.18 crore to the revered Lalbaugcha Raja Ganpati mandal in Mumbai during the initial three days of the Ganesh Chaturthi festival. The significant collection includes a diverse array of offerings, from substantial cash sums to precious metals and foreign currency.
The largest component of the offerings came in the form of cash, totaling ₹1.9 crore. This reflects the widespread devotion and financial contributions from the thousands who visit the mandal daily to seek blessings from the iconic Ganesh idol.
Precious Metal Offerings to Lalbaugcha Raja
In addition to cash, the mandal received a substantial amount of gold. A total of 647.47 grams of gold, valued at approximately ₹98.9 lakh, was donated. These gold contributions included various pieces of jewelry, such as bangles and chains, presented by devotees.
Silver offerings were also significant, with 12,389 grams collected, estimated to be worth around ₹30.35 lakh. Among the silver articles were unique items like pens and intricately carved cricket bats, showcasing the personal touch many devotees bring to their offerings.
Foreign currency, specifically US dollars, was also part of the collective donations, adding to the overall financial value. These figures were released by the managing committee of the Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal, as reported by The Indian Express, with gold and silver valuations based on prevailing market rates at the time of assessment.
