JioBlackRock Mutual Fund Revises Six Schemes, Adds Gold & Silver ETFs

· · 3 min read

JioBlackRock Mutual Fund is revising six schemes from August 26, 2026, introducing gold and silver ETFs to its Flexi Cap and Large Cap funds. The updates align with SEBI guidelines and include changes to asset allocation and fund names.

JioBlackRock Mutual Fund has announced significant revisions to six of its schemes, with changes taking effect from August 26, 2026. These updates are designed to align the funds with the Securities and Exchange Board of India’s (SEBI) Master Circular for Mutual Funds, issued on March 20, 2026.

Key Changes Across Funds

The comprehensive overhaul includes adjustments to asset allocation, the introduction of new investment avenues, and even fund nomenclature changes for some debt schemes. Investors in these funds should review the updated provisions.

Flexi Cap Fund Updates

The JioBlackRock Flexi Cap Fund will maintain its core strategy of investing 65-100% of its assets in equity and equity-related instruments across large-cap, mid-cap, and small-cap companies. However, significant changes are coming to its alternative allocations:

  • Up to 35% can now be allocated to money market instruments, other liquid instruments, and units of mutual funds.
  • A notable addition is the ability to invest up to 20% in units of gold and silver exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
  • The fund can also allocate up to 10% in units issued by infrastructure investment trusts (InvITs).

Previously, the Flexi Cap Fund could invest 0-35% in debt and money market instruments and up to 10% in units issued by real estate investment trusts (REITs) and InvITs.

Large Cap Fund Revisions

The JioBlackRock Large Cap Fund will now allocate 80-100% of its assets to equity and equity-related instruments of large-cap companies, with 0-20% in equity of non-large-cap companies. Similar to the Flexi Cap Fund, it gains new investment options:

  • Up to 20% in money market instruments, other liquid instruments, and units of mutual funds.
  • Up to 20% in gold and silver ETFs.
  • Up to 10% in InvITs.

Sector Rotation and Arbitrage Funds Expand Scope

The JioBlackRock Sector Rotation Fund will see an expansion of its investment options to include money market instruments, other liquid instruments and units of mutual funds, gold and silver ETFs, and InvITs, in addition to its existing equity and debt allocations.

Meanwhile, the JioBlackRock Arbitrage Fund can now invest in Gold ETFs, Silver ETFs, and exchange-traded commodity derivatives (ETCD), alongside its existing equity (including derivatives) and debt/money market instruments.

Liquid and Overnight Fund Provisions Updated

For the JioBlackRock Liquid Fund, all references to “91 days” in its scheme documents will be clarified to “91 calendar days,” ensuring precise maturity calculations for debt and money market instruments.

Similarly, the JioBlackRock Overnight Fund will replace “30-day” with “30 calendar days” for its ability to deploy up to 5% of net assets in government securities and/or Treasury Bills for margin and collateral purposes.

Debt Funds Renamed

Two debt funds are undergoing nomenclature changes:

  • The JioBlackRock Short Duration Fund will be renamed the JioBlackRock Short Term Fund, with a Macaulay duration of one to three years.
  • The JioBlackRock Low Duration Fund will become the JioBlackRock Ultra Short to Short Term Fund, with a Macaulay duration of six to 12 months.

All these announced changes are scheduled to become effective on August 26, 2026.
