Indian equity markets are poised for a muted opening on Thursday, October 8, 2026. The Gift Nifty futures on the NSE International Exchange indicated a flat start for domestic indices, trading down 12.90 points, or 0.06 per cent, at 22,620. This comes after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) increased interest rates as expected, influencing market sentiment.

Several companies are expected to draw investor attention today due to significant corporate developments and earnings announcements.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)

The IT giant is scheduled to announce its second-quarter earnings for the September 2026 quarter later today, a key event for market watchers.

TD Power Systems

The electric motors manufacturer launched its Qualified Institutions Placement (QIP) issue on October 7, with a floor price set at Rs 775.35 per share. The company aims to raise up to Rs 600 crore through this QIP, according to media reports.

HCL Technologies

HCL Tech is expanding its global footprint by launching a new regional headquarters in Johannesburg, South Africa. This facility will enhance the company's technology innovation and delivery capabilities in the region and will also house an AI Center of Excellence.

Tata Power Company

In a move towards sustainable energy, Tata Power has partnered with Norway's Ocean Sun to introduce its innovative membrane-based floating solar technology to India. A 300-kWp pilot project is planned at Tata Power's Mulshi reservoir in Maharashtra.

Ola Electric Mobility
