Analyst Coverage and Growth Projections

Adding to the positive sentiment, Choice Institutional Equities has initiated coverage on ESDS Software with a 'BUY' rating. The brokerage firm has set a 12-month target price of Rs 1,550, valuing the company at 18 times its estimated FY28 EV/EBITDA. Choice anticipates robust growth for ESDS, projecting revenue, EBITDA, and profit after tax (PAT) to grow at compound annual growth rates (CAGRs) of 120.9 percent, 72.6 percent, and 81.3 percent, respectively, between FY26 and FY29E.

The brokerage's optimistic outlook is underpinned by the expected expansion of India's cloud market, which is forecast to grow at a 23.6 percent CAGR from Rs 65,100 crore in FY25 to Rs 1.9 lakh crore by FY30. Key drivers for this growth include enterprise digitization, increased adoption across the BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance) sector, and rising government workloads.

Market Segments and AI Opportunities

ESDS Software primarily serves the Enterprise, Government, and BFSI segments, which account for 55.1 percent, 27.4 percent, and 17.5 percent of its business, respectively. Choice Institutional Equities also highlighted significant growth opportunities within India's cloud GPU market, predicting a CAGR of approximately 50 percent through FY30.

The company's growth is expected to be fueled by its core business expansion, increased capacity, enhanced customer monetization, and operational leverage. Furthermore, ESDS's substantial $1.25 billion AI contract is identified as a potential major earnings driver. Successful execution and a rapid ramp-up of this AI contract could further boost earnings and valuation.

Identified Risks

Despite the positive outlook, Choice Institutional Equities has pointed out several key risks. These include the challenges associated with executing the AI contract, customer concentration, high capital expenditure intensity, and competitive pressures. These factors, if not managed effectively, could potentially delay earnings growth and impact utilization, margins, and overall returns.
