Cockroach Janata Party Instagram Account Hacked Amidst 14 Million Follower Milestone

· · 2 min read

The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) Instagram account, which recently surpassed 14 million followers, is facing an active hacking attempt. Founder Abhijeet Dipke alerted followers as the social media movement, born from a Chief Justice's remark, continues its rapid growth.

The rapidly expanding social media movement known as the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) is currently battling an active hacking attempt on its Instagram account. This security breach comes as the party celebrates a significant milestone, having recently crossed 14 million followers on the platform, outpacing established political entities like the BJP and Congress.

Abhijeet Dipke, the founder of the CJP, took to Instagram to inform his followers about the ongoing efforts by an unknown party to gain unauthorized access to the account. The CJP's impressive follower count now stands ahead of the Congress party's 13.3 million and the BJP's 8.8 million Instagram followers, marking a swift rise for a movement that began just weeks prior.

Origins of the Cockroach Janata Party

The genesis of the CJP can be traced back to a controversial remark made by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant during a Supreme Court hearing. The CJI commented, "There are youngsters like cockroaches, who don't get any employment and don't have a place in a profession," a statement that quickly drew widespread criticism and sparked public outrage.

In direct response to these remarks, 30-year-old Abhijeet Dipke, a public relations postgraduate and former social media worker for the Aam Aadmi Party, founded the CJP. Dipke explained in an interview that the comment was particularly "triggering" because it originated from the Chief Justice, whom he views as the "custodian of the Constitution" and a protector of freedom of expression. He emphasized that being compared to "cockroaches and parasites" for expressing opinions was deeply hurtful, especially from such a high judicial authority.

Previous Challenges and Continued Growth

The CJP's meteoric rise has not been without its obstacles. Prior to the Instagram hacking attempt, the party's X (formerly Twitter) account was withheld in India due to a legal demand. This action typically occurs when a platform receives a valid legal request and determines it must restrict access to content within a specific country.

Despite this setback on X, the movement continued to flourish on Instagram, consolidating its largest audience there. The current hacking attempt represents a new form of pressure on the platform where the CJP has successfully built its substantial following and influence.
