Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's official residence in Delhi, a nearly century-old bungalow at 1, Janpath Road, has received a significant ₹6.5 crore makeover. The extensive renovation, undertaken by NBCC (India) Ltd, a Central public sector enterprise, aimed to modernize the property while preserving its historical integrity.

The project, completed in a swift three-and-a-half months, saw the bungalow handed over to Chief Minister Naidu on October 22, 2026. Naidu had previously performed housewarming rituals at the residence in July 2024, shortly after assuming his role as Chief Minister. The Delhi residence frequently hosts high-profile meetings with Union Ministers and other dignitaries when Naidu is in the national capital.

Revitalizing a Historic Landmark

Built in the 1930s, the bungalow had fallen into disrepair over the decades. NBCC stated that the challenge was to restore its structural strength without "erasing its soul." The renovation involved meticulous retrofitting and reinforcement of the aging structure.

Preserving Heritage, Embracing Modernity

NBCC ensured that the architectural and heritage features defining the bungalow's character were faithfully preserved. Alongside this, the residence has been transformed with elegant modern interiors, sustainable net-zero concepts, and lush green landscaping, creating a blend of historical charm and contemporary efficiency.

NBCC's Commitment to Quality

"Every heritage building carries a story, and restoring one demands both engineering precision and deep respect for its history," said K. P. Mahadevaswamy, CMD of NBCC. "Bringing this landmark back to life in just three and a half months is a testament to the dedication of Team NBCC and our unwavering commitment to quality and timely delivery."

The successful completion of the project highlights NBCC's expertise in handling complex heritage restoration tasks, ensuring a functional and aesthetically pleasing environment for the Chief Minister's official duties in Delhi.
