Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu officially welcomed Reliance Industries Executive Director Anant Ambani to Madanapalle on Friday, October 2, 2026, for the unveiling of the proposed Global Horticulture Hub and the Indian School of Agriculture. During the event, Naidu affectionately referred to Ambani as “Andhra’s beloved son,” acknowledging his growing involvement in the state’s developmental initiatives.
Ambani, addressing the gathering, made a personal appeal to the Chief Minister, expressing his deep commitment to Andhra Pradesh. “Respected Chandrababu garu, today I have one request. Please consider me a son of Andhra. Tell me what I can do for your beautiful state,” he stated, beginning his speech with a traditional “Namaskaram” and a few lines in Telugu, which resonated well with the attendees.
Reliance’s Commitment to Agriculture and Clean Energy
The event marked a significant collaboration between the Andhra Pradesh government and Reliance Industries for the establishment and management of the Indian School of Agriculture. Ambani thanked Naidu for the trust placed in Reliance, assuring full support for the new agricultural institution and seeking guidance on further areas of assistance.
The proposed Global Horticulture Hub is designed to bolster the horticulture sector and uplift the rural economy, particularly in the Rayalaseema region. The Indian School of Agriculture will focus on integrating technology, innovation, and modern farming techniques to tackle challenges faced by farmers and enhance rural incomes.
Broader Vision for State Development
Chief Minister Naidu lauded Reliance’s broader participation in projects spanning agriculture and clean energy within the state. Ambani highlighted Reliance’s ongoing involvement in compressed biogas projects across Andhra Pradesh, emphasizing that the new agricultural initiative aligns with a larger goal of fostering economically empowered villages and a sustainable future.
The event saw the presence of other dignitaries, including Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Ambani also used the occasion to commend Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and expressed Reliance’s readiness to contribute to the vision of a “Viksit Bharat,” seeing Andhra Pradesh as a state moving towards becoming a “Swarna Bhoomi.”
