A teenager from Beldanga, Murshidabad district, West Bengal, who had been living in a pond for an extended period due to a rare medical condition, has been brought to Mumbai for specialized treatment. Iqbal, as he is known, was airlifted on the instructions of Anant Ambani, Executive Director of Reliance Industries, after his unique plight gained widespread attention.
A Teenager's Struggle
Iqbal's unusual condition first came to light through a viral video on social media, which showed him residing in a pond day and night. Reports indicated that he experienced a severe burning sensation across his body whenever he emerged from the water, compelling him to stay submerged for prolonged periods. Another video depicted him eating while seated in the pond, further highlighting the severity of his situation. His family, struggling financially, had been unable to secure proper medical care for him.
