Yogi Adityanath Orders FIR Against Trolls Targeting Akhilesh Yadav's Daughter

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed police to register an FIR against individuals trolling Akhilesh Yadav's daughter online. He condemned the "unacceptable" comments, emphasizing that a daughter's dignity must be respected regardless of political affiliation.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered an FIR to be filed against those responsible for circulating defamatory content targeting Akhilesh Yadav's daughter on social media. Adityanath made the announcement during a public address in Azamgarh, where he was inaugurating and laying the foundation for development projects worth over ₹955 crore.

CM Condemns Online Harassment

Speaking to the gathering, the Chief Minister firmly stated that objectionable comments directed at any daughter are “unacceptable and unforgivable.” He highlighted a recent incident involving trolling against Akhilesh Yadav's daughter, which prompted his immediate instructions to the police for an FIR.

Adityanath underscored that Indian society has always held the belief that “a daughter is a daughter,” stressing that every daughter deserves dignity and respect, irrespective of political leanings or rivalries.

Police Action and Call for Decorum

The controversy began after allegedly fake and defamatory posts, including a morphed photograph and false claims, started circulating online, aiming to damage her reputation. Following complaints lodged by Samajwadi Party leaders, the cyber cell of the Kanpur Police Commissionerate registered an FIR and initiated an investigation.

Beyond condemning the trolling, Chief Minister Adityanath also called for greater control and decorum in political debates, urging leaders and party workers across India to maintain respectful conduct on social media platforms. He stressed that personal attacks on family members, especially daughters, should have no place in a democratic political environment.

This directive from Adityanath is particularly notable given the long-standing political rivalry between the ruling BJP and the Samajwadi Party. His remarks are widely seen as a significant message that political differences should not extend to targeting family members or spreading misinformation online.
