· · 2 min read

The POCO F8 Pro is among the first devices globally to receive Xiaomi HyperOS 4, with its rollout beginning in early November 2026. This major update introduces a redesigned interface, significant performance enhancements, new AI-powered tools, and enhanced privacy features for eligible users.

Xiaomi is commencing the global rollout of its HyperOS 4 software, with the POCO F8 Pro slated to be one of the initial smartphones to receive the update. According to the company’s official schedule, the POCO F8 Pro will begin receiving the new software experience in early November 2026, positioning its users among the first to access Xiaomi’s latest operating system.

HyperOS 4 goes beyond a mere visual refresh, bringing comprehensive changes to the phone’s interface, system performance, and AI capabilities. While an exact release date for the handset has not been announced, Xiaomi indicates that availability may vary by region, carrier, device model, and development progress.

Redesigned Interface and Performance Improvements

The update introduces what Xiaomi terms a “Soft Light Glass” design. This new aesthetic incorporates changes to transparency, lighting effects, textures, and visual depth, aiming for a more refined user experience. Users can also expect flexible lock-screen clock styles, stacked notifications, resizable home-screen folders, and widget stacking on supported devices, enhancing personalization and organization.

Beyond visual enhancements, Xiaomi promises smoother everyday performance. This is achieved through precision workload scheduling, AI-driven memory preloading, and a redesigned application runtime environment. Internal tests conducted by Xiaomi on the Xiaomi 17 Ultra demonstrated a reduction in the time taken to launch 30 apps after nine hours of use, dropping from 40.3 seconds on HyperOS 3 to 36.8 seconds on HyperOS 4. Additionally, the company reports faster camera launches and capture times, alongside fewer frame drops during video playback and scrolling, indicating a significant boost in system responsiveness.

New AI Tools and Enhanced Privacy Features

HyperOS 4 integrates a suite of new AI capabilities designed to boost productivity and convenience. These include AI Voice Notes, which offers automatic task extraction, note-based questions, and mind map generation. Its AI Speech Recognition tools can summarize meetings, insert image tags, skip silent sections, and generate outlines from spoken content. Further additions comprise AI Answers, conversation translation, AI Gallery Search, and an AI Creativity Assistant, empowering users with more intelligent interactions.

Privacy and security have also received a significant upgrade. Xiaomi highlights the implementation of post-quantum encryption for key delivery in certain end-to-end encrypted scenarios, ensuring more robust data protection. Other privacy enhancements include secure data transmission, on-device privacy storage, and confidential cloud computing. It's important to note that the availability of these specific features will vary depending on the device, region, and language settings.
