OnMobile Global has successfully raised ₹40 crore in financing from alternative credit platform BlackSoil. This significant investment is earmarked for the expansion of OnMobile's innovative ONMO+ Smart Console cloud gaming offering across India, as announced by the company.
The fresh capital will primarily support the deployment of necessary infrastructure and the establishment of a robust supply chain for gaming controllers. OnMobile also intends to broaden the product's availability through strategic partnerships with retail outlets, major online marketplaces, and existing telecom operator channels, aiming for widespread consumer reach.
Affordable Gaming for All Screens
ONMO+ is positioned to disrupt the Indian gaming market with an attractive entry price of ₹4,999. The service is designed for cross-device compatibility, allowing users to seamlessly transition between Smart TVs, laptops, tablets, and smartphones. This offering directly challenges the high cost of traditional gaming consoles, which often exceed ₹50,000, by providing a more economical pathway to premium gaming experiences.
Subscribers to ONMO+ gain access to a comprehensive library of over 100 premium games. Looking ahead, OnMobile plans to further enhance its ecosystem by supporting eligible existing game licenses from popular platforms like Steam. While specific subscription charges, internet requirements, or a timeline for this license support were not detailed in the announcement, the strategic direction is clear.
Leadership Endorses Vision for Accessibility
Radhika Venugopal, Whole-Time Director and Chief Financial Officer of OnMobile, emphasized the company's commitment to making premium gaming universally accessible. “With ONMO+, our vision is simple: premium gaming on all screens, for all,” Venugopal stated, highlighting BlackSoil's crucial role in scaling this ambition across India.
Ankur Bansal, Managing Director of BlackSoil, articulated that their financing addresses a critical gap in the Indian gaming landscape. Bansal noted India's substantial gaming audience, yet the limited penetration of premium console gaming. He praised OnMobile for developing a product uniquely suited to bridge this accessibility divide.
India's Growing Gaming Market
OnMobile projects a significant growth trajectory for the Indian gaming market, citing over 500 million active gamers in 2025, with this figure expected to surpass 700 million by 2031. This robust market forecast underpins the strategic expansion of ONMO+'s affordable cloud gaming platform.
