Apple has begun the rollout of iOS 27, introducing a significantly revamped Siri AI experience. However, unlike standard feature updates, the advanced Siri AI is initially available as a beta, requiring users to actively request access before they can utilize its new capabilities.
The updated Siri AI is engineered for more natural language understanding, leveraging on-device information to deliver highly relevant responses. It also gains the ability to comprehend on-screen content and execute tasks across various applications, marking a substantial leap in its intelligence and utility.
How to Request Siri AI Beta Access
If your iPhone is running iOS 27 and is a compatible model, you can join the waitlist directly from your device. Follow these steps to request access to the Siri AI beta:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Navigate to the Siri section.
- Look for and tap the Try Siri AI (Beta) option.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete your request.
Once Apple grants access, you will receive a notification, and a dedicated Siri AI app will become available on your iPhone. The waiting period for activation can vary, with some users reportedly gaining access within minutes, while others may wait several hours or even days.
Compatible iPhones for Siri AI
While iOS 27 itself is compatible with iPhone 11 and newer models, the full Siri AI functionality demands an Apple Intelligence-compatible iPhone. This currently includes the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, along with any newer supported models Apple releases.
Interaction with the new Siri AI will be possible by swiping down from the Dynamic Island, pressing and holding the side button, or directly through the new dedicated Siri AI application.
Initial Availability and Language Support
At its launch, the Siri AI beta is exclusively available in English. Apple has confirmed plans to expand language support in October, with French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish expected to be added. It is also important to note that the feature will not be available in the European Union at the initial launch of iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and watchOS 27.
