· · 2 min read

Apple's highly anticipated iPhone Duo, its first foldable device, will not launch on September 18. Pre-orders begin October 16, with official sales starting October 23 across 70 countries, including India. Prices start at ₹2,99,900.

Apple's highly anticipated first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, will not be part of the initial September 18, 2026, launch wave that includes the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Instead, prospective buyers will need to wait until October for the premium device.

According to official announcements from Apple, the iPhone Duo is scheduled to become available for pre-order starting Thursday, October 16, 2026. The official sale date, when units will begin shipping and appear in stores, is set for Friday, October 23, 2026.

Global Availability and Pricing Details

The iPhone Duo release date strategy includes a phased rollout. The device will be available in over 70 countries during the first wave, including major markets such as India, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, China, Japan, Germany, and Australia. For other regions, the sale will commence a week later, on Friday, October 30.

Pricing for the iPhone Duo in India reflects its premium positioning:

  • 256GB storage variant: ₹2,99,900
  • 512GB storage variant: ₹3,24,900
  • 1TB storage variant: ₹3,74,900
  • 2TB storage variant: ₹4,49,900

The foldable device will be offered in two distinct color options: Star White and Night Sky.

Tips for Securing Your iPhone Duo

Given reports suggesting potentially limited initial stock for the iPhone Duo, Apple has provided several recommendations for those looking to secure a unit during the pre-order or launch period:

  • Utilize the Apple Store app to save preferred model, accessories, AppleCare+ plan, and payment information in advance.
  • Ensure all payment, billing, and shipping details are current and accurate within your Apple account.
  • Obtain your trade-in value for an existing device before pre-orders open to expedite the process.
  • Keep the Apple Store app updated and open just before the pre-order window begins.
  • Avoid making changes to the model or color selection at checkout, as this could affect availability.
  • Consider selecting in-store pickup as an option if it is available in your area for potentially faster access.

While online pre-orders are crucial, some limited inventory may also be available directly at physical Apple Stores on the official launch day.
