Tamil superstar Vijay's highly anticipated action thriller, Jana Nayagan, is set to hit theaters today, marking what is widely believed to be his final cinematic outing before focusing entirely on his political career. Early trade estimates suggest the film could achieve a massive opening, with predictions pointing to a worldwide collection of ₹80 crore to ₹100 crore on its first day.
Record Advance Bookings Fueling Predictions
The film has already demonstrated immense pre-release buzz, accumulating ₹15.09 crore in India through advance ticket sales. Globally, including block bookings, the figure stands at approximately ₹30 crore. Industry trackers, including Sacnilk, are closely monitoring these numbers, which indicate a strong start despite a reported online leak earlier this year that saw over 1.20 crore people allegedly watch an unauthorized version.
The Tamil version of Jana Nayagan leads the domestic advance bookings, accounting for ₹10.22 crore from the sale of 4.17 lakh tickets across 5,091 shows. The Telugu-dubbed version, titled Jana Nayakudu, has generated around ₹12 lakh, while the Hindi version, Jana Neta, has sold approximately 7,200 tickets.
Overseas markets are also showing robust interest, particularly in North America, where advance sales have reached $350,000 (around ₹2.93 crore). The United States alone contributed $229,621 (approximately ₹1.92 crore) to this figure. Overall, more than 5.01 lakh tickets have been sold through platforms like BookMyShow.
