Chandra Kumar Bose, the grandnephew of iconic freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, has voiced strong objections to the recently released teaser for the upcoming science-fiction film Kalki 2898 AD. His primary concern revolves around the character of a robotic companion named 'Bujji' featured in the film, starring Prabhas.
Objection to 'Bujji' Name
According to Bose, the name 'Bujji' holds a significant and affectionate place within his family, as it was a cherished nickname for Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. He argues that using this name for a machine, specifically a futuristic robotic vehicle, is deeply disrespectful to the legacy and memory of the national hero.
"Such an objectionable content, I strongly object to the use of the name 'Bujji' for a machine. This is an insult to the revered name of our beloved Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, who was affectionately called 'Bujji' by his family," Chandra Kumar Bose stated, calling for the teaser to be pulled down immediately.
He emphasized that while creative freedom is important, it should not come at the cost of disrespecting historical figures and national icons. Bose urged the filmmakers to reconsider the name and take appropriate action to address the sentiments of Netaji's family and admirers.
