The highly anticipated trailer for Nitesh Tiwari's mythological epic, Ramayana, has finally arrived. Released early Thursday during the Brahma Muhurat, the four-minute-nine-second preview showcases the monumental scale of the upcoming two-part film, introducing audiences to Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Yash as Raavan, and Sai Pallavi as Sita.

Yash's Raavan Makes a Dominant Entrance

The Ramayana trailer opens with a powerful introduction to Yash's Raavan, the ambitious king of Lanka, as he strides through a grand doorway, declaring his intent to rule the three worlds. The visuals highlight the opulent scale of Raavan's kingdom, featuring his majestic palace and the iconic Pushpak Vimaan.

Ranbir Kapoor Embodies Lord Ram

The narrative then shifts to Ram's origin story in Ayodhya, depicting Vishnu's avatar manifesting to restore balance between good and evil. Ranbir Kapoor is introduced as Ram, the prince destined to confront Raavan. The trailer beautifully captures Ram's bond with King Dashratha, portrayed by Arun Govil, and Kaikeyi, played by Lara Dutta. Viewers also witness Ram and Sita's wedding, followed by the poignant events leading to their exile with Lakshman.

Sai Pallavi's Sita Brings Emotional Depth

Sai Pallavi's portrayal of Sita is a standout, conveying a serene yet formidable presence. Beyond emotional moments, the trailer hints at Sita's courage, showing her wielding a weapon in an action sequence. Ravi Dubey appears as Lakshman, while Arun Govil delivers a heartbreaking performance as Dashratha watches his sons depart Ayodhya.

The Road to War and Key Characters

The trailer also introduces Rakul Preet Singh as Shurpanakha, Raavan's sister, whose interaction with Ram precipitates a critical turning point in the epic. While Sunny Deol's Lord Hanuman remains unseen, glimpses of other significant characters, including Vivek Oberoi and Saurabh Sachdeva, are featured. The background score, a collaboration between AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer, powerfully underscores the journey from Ayodhya to Lanka, building anticipation for the ultimate confrontation between Ram and Raavan.

Global Release and Production Details

The trailer's release followed a global distribution partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment, with select footage previously showcased at San Diego Comic-Con 2026. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra of DNEG and Prime Focus Studios, with Yash as co-producer, Ramayana: Part I is slated for release in cinemas on November 5 during the Diwali weekend. The second part is scheduled for Diwali 2027. The extensive cast also includes Kunal Kapoor, Shobana, and Faisal Malik.
