Hana Cross Reveals Beckham Family Caused Her 'Anxiety' During Brooklyn Romance

· · 3 min read

Model Hana Cross, ex-girlfriend of Brooklyn Beckham, has spoken out about the 'anxiety' she experienced during their 2019 romance. She describes being thrust into the celebrity spotlight and seeing 'red flags' in hindsight, amidst ongoing family drama.

Hana Cross, model and former girlfriend of Brooklyn Beckham, has opened up about the significant anxiety she faced during their nine-month relationship in 2019. In a candid interview, Cross reflected on the challenges of dating into the high-profile Beckham family and the sudden shift in her life.

A Sudden Plunge into the Public Eye

Cross, who was 20 or 21 at the time, recounted how her life drastically changed from growing up on a farm to being immersed in London's intense celebrity scene. "I was only 20, 21 when we dated, and I had just started modeling," she explained, adding, "and I came from living on a farm to moving to London and being thrown into a relationship like that." The sudden glare of paparazzi and glitzy events, with all eyes on her, proved overwhelming.

She admitted that navigating such a high-pressure environment without a guide was incredibly difficult. "It's hard to know what's best to do in that situation," Cross stated. "No one really knew, and I didn't, really. It wasn't something that I was super-open about, so advice from outside was hard to take."

“A Lot of Warning Signs”

Reflecting on the period, Cross explicitly linked her struggles to the family dynamic. "My time with the family caused me a lot of anxiety, in all honesty," she told Hello! magazine. She further revealed, "There were a lot of warning signs and things that happened during the relationship that, in hindsight, should have made me think and maybe end the relationship or walk away from it a lot sooner than I did."

Despite the difficulties, Cross confirmed that she never felt pressured by Victoria or David Beckham to remain silent after their breakup. "I've never been pressured or received any warning from them not to speak out about it or say anything about the relationship," she clarified. Her desire was simply to move on and establish her own identity.

Amidst Ongoing Family Tensions

Cross’s revelations come at a time when headlines are dominated by reports of a feud between Brooklyn Beckham, his wife Nicola Peltz Beckham, and his famous parents. This context lends a new perspective to what might otherwise appear as a typical celebrity breakup, suggesting a broader pattern of family complexities. Cross acknowledged the difficulty of avoiding being mentally drawn back to that period, especially with the current public drama unfolding. "It's hard because I don't look back on that as a fond time, on reflection," she shared.

Brooklyn and Hana's relationship in 2019 was notably public and often marked by reported disagreements and arguments, leading to their eventual split by mid-2019. Brooklyn later began his relationship with Nicola Peltz, whom he married in 2022.
