Indian equity benchmark indices extended their weakness on Wednesday, September 9, amid rising geopolitical tensions and increasing crude oil prices, which fueled expectations of imminent rate hikes. The BSE Sensex closed down 813.35 points (1.08%) at 74,764.23, while NSE's Nifty50 plunged 203.60 points (0.86%) to settle at 23,431.50. Major Corporate Announcements

ICICI Bank

The prominent private lender has received approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). This permits ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company to acquire an aggregate holding of up to 9.95 percent of the paid-up share capital or voting rights in CSB Bank, DCB Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and AU Small Finance Bank.

Wipro

IT solutions giant Wipro has launched its Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Command Center in collaboration with Nasdaq-listed CrowdStrike. This initiative aims to bolster enterprise security against evolving AI-driven risks, fostering proactive, risk-informed cyber resilience aligned with business objectives.

Coal India

Northern Coalfields Ltd (NCL), a coal-producing subsidiary of the state-owned firm, reported accelerated coal production and dispatch as rainfall eased. Production surged by 67 percent and supply increased by 75 percent as of September 8, compared to the average for September 1-3.

Indian Bank

The state-run lender plans to divest up to 15 lakh equity shares, representing 17.91 percent of its stake in the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE). This will occur through an offer-for-sale during NSE's proposed initial public offering (IPO), subject to necessary regulatory approvals.

Hindustan Zinc

The metal producer has signed a six-year transportation contract with logistics solutions provider MFL India. The agreement involves deploying 30 electric trucks for transporting concentrates, marking a significant step towards electrifying its mine-to-smelter logistics network.

The road and toll collections company reported a robust 25 percent year-on-year increase in toll revenue for August 2026, reaching Rs 807.4 crore, up from Rs 646.2 crore in the corresponding month last year.

Shakti Pumps India

Shakti Pumps has received a Letter of Empanelment (LoE) from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company. The LoE is for 10,000 off-grid solar photovoltaic water pumping systems (SPWPS) of 3 HP, 5 HP, and 7.5 HP capacity across Maharashtra under the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana, valued at approximately Rs 235.92 crore.

Enviro Infra Engineers

The Delhi-based water treatment company announced that its step-down subsidiary, Suyog Urja (SUL), has secured a Letter of Intent (LoI) worth Rs 224 crore (including GST). This LoI is from Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) turnkey works for a 180 MW NTPC wind power project located at Parli, Maharashtra.

Dilip Buildcon

Dilip Buildcon has emerged as the successful bidder for a project valued at Rs 1,800 crore. The company received a Letter of Intent (LOI) from the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) for authorization to lay, build, operate, or expand a petroleum and petroleum products (LPG) pipeline connecting Paradip, Odisha, to Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

Juniper Green Energy

Juniper Green Spark Ten, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the recently listed renewable energy player Juniper Green Energy, has fully commissioned a 75 MW wind-solar hybrid power project. This milestone follows the commissioning of the final 10 MW of wind capacity at the project site.

Equitas Small Finance Bank

The board of the private lender is scheduled to convene on September 16, 2026. The meeting will consider and approve a proposal to raise capital through the issuance of unsecured, subordinated, transferable, redeemable, and fully paid-up lower Tier II bonds in the form of non-convertible debentures on a private placement basis.
