Indian equity benchmarks closed marginally lower on Friday, August 14, as investors awaited clarity on energy prices and global bond yields. With the Q1 earnings season officially concluded, market participants are now shifting their focus to key corporate announcements and upcoming initial public offerings (IPOs).

On Monday, August 17, several companies are expected to be in the spotlight due to significant corporate developments, quarterly results, and stock market debuts. Here’s a detailed look at the top stocks making headlines:

Major Stock Market Debuts

  • Dhoot Transmission: The auto ancillary firm is set to list on Monday, August 17. The company successfully raised Rs 3,067 crore in its IPO, selling shares at Rs 871 apiece. The offering was oversubscribed an impressive 74.21 times, attracting more than 53.07 lakh applications.
  • Molbio Diagnostics: This diagnostics and healthcare chain will also commence its trading journey on Monday. Molbio Diagnostics garnered Rs 940 crore through its IPO, with shares priced at Rs 807 each. The IPO saw robust demand, subscribing 70.26 times overall.

Key Corporate Announcements and Updates

  • Reliance Industries (RIL): The conglomerate announced a strategic partnership with Rolls-Royce. The collaboration aims to explore capabilities for the design, development, manufacturing, and delivery of an indigenous combat engine for India's Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) program. They plan to investigate forming a dedicated Aerospace Gas Turbine Complex.
  • Dr. Reddy's Laboratories: The USFDA concluded a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) inspection at the company's formulations manufacturing facility in Bachupally, Hyderabad, from August 6 to August 14, 2026. Following the inspection, the USFDA issued a Form 483 with four observations.
  • PB Fintech: The insurance regulator IRDAI issued a show-cause notice to Policybazaar, a wholly-owned subsidiary of PB Fintech. This notice follows observations made during an inspection conducted between October 21 and October 25, 2024. Policybazaar is expected to submit its response within the stipulated timeframe.
  • BEML: The state-run defense enterprise secured an order worth $6.65 million from Mauritius. The order is for the supply of BE220G Hydraulic Excavators, intended for deployment across key African markets, including Liberia, Sierra Leone, Ghana, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). This latest order brings BEML's international order bookings to $119 million.
  • CESC: Purvah Green Power, a subsidiary of CESC, received a Letter of Award (LOA) from the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). The LOA is for the supply of 70 MW of Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy Round-the-Clock (FDRE-RTC) power from an ISTS-connected renewable energy project in India.
  • Juniper Green Energy: This renewable energy firm also secured an LOA from SECI for 230 MW of contracted capacity for a Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy Round-the-Clock (FDRE-RTC) power project.
  • Texmaco Rail & Engineering: The railway company executed a share subscription and shareholders' agreement (SSSA) with its subsidiary, Texmaco Defence Technologies (TDTL), and Vagus Def Tech & Aerospace Fund-1 (Calculus). This agreement facilitates an investment of up to Rs 200 crore, after which Calculus will hold 30 percent of TDTL's equity share capital.
  • Kitex Garments: The company's board has approved plans to raise funds of up to Rs 3,000 crore. This can be achieved through the issuance of equity shares, non-convertible debentures with warrants, or a combination thereof, via qualified institutional placements (QIPs) or other permitted methods.

Quarterly Earnings Highlights

  • Voltas: The Tata Group's electronics arm reported a significant 52.2 percent year-on-year (YoY) increase in net profit, reaching Rs 213.8 crore for the June 2026 quarter. Revenue also grew by 18.7 percent YoY to Rs 4,673.5 crore, with EBITDA jumping 48.7 percent YoY to Rs 266 crore. The EBITDA margin expanded by 120 basis points to 5.7 percent.
  • Physicswallah: The Ed-tech player narrowed its loss to Rs 77.6 crore for the third quarter ended June 30, 2026. Revenue saw a 24.4 percent YoY surge to Rs 1,054 crore, and its post-interest EBITDA turned positive at Rs 52 crore, driven by strong online revenue growth of over 33 percent YoY.
  • Rubicon Research: The pharma research company recorded a 95.8 percent YoY jump in net profit, reaching Rs 84.8 crore, for the April-June 2026 period. Revenue increased by 51.6 percent YoY, with EBITDA coming in at Rs 131.2 crore, up 64.6 percent YoY, and margins expanding 172 basis points to 24.16 percent.

Traffic Data

  • GMR Airports: The airport operator reported a 0.4 percent YoY growth in passenger traffic for July 2026, totaling 93.12 lakh. While domestic passenger traffic declined by 0.1 percent to 69 lakh, international passenger traffic rose by 2 percent YoY to 24 lakh. Aircraft movements, however, saw a 1.5 percent YoY decrease to 58,314 for the month.

Other Companies Announcing Results and Corporate Actions

Several other companies are scheduled to announce their quarterly earnings today, including INDO-MIM, Cressanda Railway Solutions, Indrayani Biotech, Mahan Industries, Silverline Technologies, and Starbeam Ventures.

Additionally, shares of Bandhan Bank, Delta Corp, Fabtech Technologies, Hisar Metal Industries, HUDCO, Indo Count Industries, Manappuram Finance, NBCC (India), Panama Petrochem, Plastiblends India, SKF India (Industrial), Silver Touch Technologies, and Yamuna Syndicate will trade ex-dividend.
